Rufus was born on July 14, 2006.  He is an extra large Shiba Inu, standing 19″ tall at the shoulder and weighing 50#.  In 2008 Rufus was elected to the Pearlville Town Council and served until he was dognapped in May, 2009.  He escaped from his captors and returned home several weeks later.  Following his recuperation Rufus resigned his seat on the Council and has no future political plans.

On October 7, 2009 Rufus was named honorary Town Mascot by Mayor O’Bannon and the Town Council.
